Hilarious to see Hugh Hefner’s age-augmented girth alongside his ample-bodied bunnies posing for a revival of the Playboy Club.
We will refrain from copying and pasting all the ageist jokes at his expense.
His daughter Christie married into the ultra respectable circle of US establishment (her husband is Illinois state senator William Marovitz) and stood down as CEO of Playboy Enterprises a couple of years ago, ‘ to pursue charitable works’.
In pure commercial terms, does a new Playboy club in London have a future? The internet peddles enough smut as it is. The Mayfair casinos are fighting for market share in the economic downturn.
The Playboy brand itself has more than a faint cringe factor attached to it.
The world has moved on and hedonism is hardly the order of the day.
